Jekyll Ocean Club

2nd year in a row that I checked in and had no hot water in the shower. The HUGE difference this year is that staff corrected the issue on a temp basis w/in a few hours and fully the next morning. Props to the lady who runs Facilities at the OC and her staff. Great location, food at the restaurant is good, short walk to convention center if that matters to you.

Want to experience an awesome vacation at the beach? This is the place! The rooms are immaculate. When you open the balcony doors you feel like you're already walking on the beach. The sound of the waves combined with the ocean breeze will have you considering making this your permanent home. Oh, did I mention there's a pool, hot tub, and restaurant on site that serves delicious food? Also, umbrellas and lounge chairs are provided on the beach that is an arm's throw away! This will be my home away from home whenever I visit Jekyll Island!

This is definitely a nice 4-star hotel. I had a few hiccups initially - the public wifi they offer does not support videochatting so an important meeting I needed to have could not happen. The wifi worked fine for usual streaming though. Initially, there was no bellman to take up our suitcases and there was some mix-ups with a few of my kitchen orders. The food was above average, but being from NYC I am spoiled with top quality food. They do truffle fries very well and I really enjoyed their breakfast waffles. On the other hand, the staff is very friendly and helpful. Monica especially was wonderful and helped out my family a lot, as well as the main IT guy went above and beyond to try to help my wifi situation. Our request for early check-in was honored which was a huge relief and comfort. We had an amazing view of the beach on third floor. Best deck chairs we've had at a hotel - even compared to many 5 star ones! Our only qualms about the rooms were the plaster was a bit off color than the walls, so it looked a little off putting in some places, and there were no bathroom fans. Otherwise, the rooms were clean and spacious! And the beds were comfy (and I am picky with this!). Overall, I think this is one of the best options on the island to stay. It's relaxing with great service. They offer nice bikes, and very easy access to the beach!
